Rescue Groups Rehabilitate Michael Vick's Pit Bulls

When NFL quarterback Michael Vick was arrested for dog fighting in 2007, the fate of the 51 dogs rescued from his farm was uncertain.

Pit bulls saved from dog fighting rings are often found to be unsafe around humans and are put to sleep.

Miraculously, 47 of the pit bulls taken from Vick's kennels were deemed fit for rehabilitation. Thanks to the Bad Rap organization, and other rehabilitation groups, those dogs are now leading happier lives.

Some have been adopted by families; others, like the lovable Johnny, are working as therapy dogs to help shy children come out of their shell.

The CBS Early Show reports.
