Tom Delay

Mother Jones:

Redistricting typically happens every 10 years, to capture the population changes recorded by the US Census. In most of the country, state lawmakers ultimately decide how congressional district boundaries in their state are drawn. [Rep. Tom] DeLay's plan entailed engineering a Republican takeover of the Texas statehouse by strategically funneling money into key legislative races using his political action committee, Texans for a Republican Majority (TRMPAC). Having won a majority in Austin in 2002, DeLay's allies managed to ram through a redistricting plan in 2003, even though it was a non-Census year, alleging that the plan based on the 2000 Census results had unfairly favored the Democrats.

By the way, I don't care what the GOP says anywhere. They are just corrupt, nothing more, incapable if governing, period.

the republicans get special consideration for everything. let's elect democrats locally and force redistricting to a sensible conclusion. better yet, take district line drawing out of partisan politics altogether.

Wouldn't it be fun if the Texas Republicans went out of state and hid? Especially if no one was sent to find them.

Actually in 2003 during the illegal redistricting Democratics first went into hiding so they weren't there to cast their vote and make a majority. They were found. So, next the Dems went out of state (Oklahoma, nonetheless) and made it public knowledge that they were there to stop the vote on redistricting. After some time Gov "Good Hair" Perry sent the freakin' Texas Rangers to OK to get them and bring them back by force if necessary. Even though the Dems had the support of the entire party in Texas. Sad day in Austin when your reps have to leave the state to make a point.

They would probably need a GPS to find their way out, and maybe it could be programmed as one way.

Cheat to Win. -- The Republican battlecry before the current tempertantrum of "No"

All Texans should stand up for fair elections. If you're party can't win on the merits of it's platform, maybe you need to evaluate those ideals, not redraw the map to make sure you hang on to power.

DeLay was a crook. All legislation submitted by him should be reversed.

The federal charges would have been in the Abramoff case. He is still being charged criminally in Texas on campaign contribution violations or something like that. I wish that the media would stop inviting him to speak. He is a crook through and through and to have him comment on Obama and Democrats is disgusting.

Living in Texas for the last 31 years, it's hard to tell the difference between Martin Frost and Tom Delay. They really are one and the same...hit man operatives for their party...ruthless and heartless.

Matt Angle is at least outed as the true subversive that he is. His actions will only shine more light on the sleazy financing practices of Democrat shadow groups funded directly or indirectly by George Soros and company.

It's really funny to see people look the other way when it's their guy. Classic Adam C Powell scenario that used to be said about Bill Clements...' he may a crook, but at least he's my crook'

One of the many reasons people have left the two main parties and become fierce independents or joined in the Tea Party.

Angle is clearly a dangerous disciple of Frost.
