Rothenberg Democrats

Roll Call:

Everyone agrees a political wave will hit on Nov. 2, though Democrats and Republicans disagree on the size of it. Some see a "normal" political wave, while others expect a political tsunami.

...

But an unusual dynamic also seems to be working against Democrats this year that could add to the party's woes: the weakness of both Democratic Senate and gubernatorial candidates in some key states.

Democrats are doing everything they can to distance themselves from Obama, Reid, and Pelosi.

Obama is continuing to have trouble even filling a 650 seat ballroom for a speech! Tickets were dropped from $500 all the way down to just $100 and the best he could do was get 450 people to show up. Can you believe that today for a hundred bucks you could be in a small room with the president for an hour? My my,,,how things have changed in just 21 months....?

Interesting how they continue to ignore NC which turned blue last year.  We have a very strong Democratic Candidate - our former attorney general Elaine Marshall!!

This year has been so bizaar that who knows what will happen.  In my own state, a failed CEO of a major corporatation who couldn't find another real job is spending millions to run aginst one of the best Senators my state and the US has ever had.

This guy is a flipping moron.

In PA, the races will be decided by Sestak's Coattails.

He can appeal to the conservative values of the purple voters better than Toomey.
The more people getting behind him will allow all the Candidates to win.

Hi Joe. I agree. Toomey is too tea-anderthal/religious banger. They are creating a stir against Dems for the the air time and punditry.

I hope Dems do not stay home this election because it could be more important than the last one. Complacency is not an option this time.

I agree. It happened here in Virginia for Govenor and it happened for the Senate seat for the late Ted Kennedy.

Mass had a Dem primary. Dems supported Martha Coakley. I believe progressives got behing her, and gave the cold shoulder to Capuano, because she was a woman, and because of her famous, or infamous quote: "In mas Illegals are not Illegal." Martha Coakley is the States Attorney general, she can not be considered a weak candidate. There are not enough repubs in Mass to elect a repub senator, and the progressives thought they had a slam dunk. But Liberals, dems, progressives, Indies, and union workers voted for Scott Brown, one reason, we are boiling mad, another, we do not support illegals.

37 to 42 house seats for the teaparty/republicans . . . more like 7 to 14 would be closer to accurate.

Listen up Obama and Dems. The GOP just ain't that into you. Of course it's too late now. But if you had listened to the folks who elected you into office....Dems and Independents and given us decent HC, and done thorough FinReg, thrown some folks in jail from the previous administration, and Wall Street. Gotten unemployment sorted out, or atleast given us a vision of how you would sort it out.....maybe you wouldn't be so in danger.

This GOP-lite crap that you pull in Congress, doesn't sit well with most of us. If you want to keep in control then get rid of DADT, push through a P.O. in reconciliation (or however you have do it), reinstate Glass-Steagall, and allow judges to change the terms and payback amouns on houses during bankruptcy. Instead of flailing around the country like chickens with your heads cut off. How about being effective???

Oh that's right, you are Dems. You are not effective. Pray the crazies don't take over the Congress, because the Dems aren't going to pull it off organically.

Dems Fielding Weak Candidates In Key Races

the majority of candidates that Rahm backed were blue dogs. Maybe this class of potential losers is his final parting gift to the party he helped destroy.
