Madonna's Rules For Lourdes: Strict On Clothes, Hair Dye, Dating

Madonna Lourdes

Madonna is being careful not to let daughter Lourdes, 13, grow up too fast.

The two of them talked with the Huffington Post Wednesday at the launch of their Material Girl collection, and Madonna keeps a close eye on what Lourdes wears. She also tells In Touch Weekly Lourdes will have to wait to date.

In Touch's press release follows:

She may have been wild in her younger years, but now, Madonna is a no-nonsense mother of four--with super-strict guidelines for her eldest daughter, 13-year-old Lourdes "Lola" Leon. The Material Mom exclusively tells In Touch that Lola can't dye her raven locks until she's 14--and that dating is out of the question for the high school freshman. "No!" Lola answered when asked if she has boyfriends--as Madonna shook her head and grimaced in disgust--at the launch of their juniors clothing line, Material Girl, at Macy's in New York. Despite the rules, the mother/daughter pair is close, even holding hands as they posed on the pink carpet at the event. "I think she's doing a really good job!" Lola told In Touch when asked about her mother's parenting skills. Madonna admitted that raising a down-to-earth daughter in the public eye isn't easy. "It does require a lot of time and effort and paying attention," she told In Touch. Hopefully, 10-year-old Rocco and 5-year-olds David and Mercy will be just as well behaved in their teen years!

I don't think its worth commenting, it is Madonna and her kids, which don't need an article, nor comments.

But, since I started. What part of the article do you think indicates Madonna has a double standard, has hse in the past extolled the virtues of thirteen year olds dating? Or the right of twelve year olds to dyeing or tatooing? can you point to those? Or perhaps because she has different standards about how to live her life, you assumed she had no rules or ideas or philosophies at all?

Or are you like some ignorant judge mental people who call women a "wh----" when there are in public at all?

It should be a very interesting time when her children begin living as she did...I often have colorful chats with relatives that dropped acid at woodstock who pretend to be by-the-book conservatives. Try as they may, their kids will probably experiment just as much as they did, no matter how tight they try to leash their progeny

Oh? No copy of "Sex" on her coffee table, as she said every household should have?

Madonna to Lourdes: DONT GROW UP TO BE LIKE ME!!!! I'm only the most famous and richest female pop musician of all time and I dabbled in acting, photography, regularly show up at fashion shows, publicize trendy causes, etc., and even the mistakes I've made have been "empowering". Yeah, I'm sure Lourdes would never want to repeat the mistakes of her mom.

When my "wild child daughter" became a mother she thanked me for being strict with her - she's raising her daughters in the same way. They are smart, confident, responsible teenagers (so far)Thank goodness.

I had a very strict mother, too. It paid off. I hated it then, but I'm grateful now. I remember reading that Madonna is strict when it comes to television and music, which is understandable, but didn't she become a gazillionaire because of young kids/teens/preteens buying/listening to her music?

Does she sing also? My goodness, she is beautiful just like her mother was at a young age.

I love seeing these two together! Ive followed Madonna since I was in third grade. Im now 37, almost 38. I still marvel at Madonna and I believe she is doing a great job as a mother to all her children. She was no angel, but who is or was? It is and was a part of life for everyone so no throwing rocks at glass houses people. I cant wait to see how Lourdes carries the torch. Im sure she'll do it well. Italians DODo it better, afterall!

Do most mother's allow their 14 year olds to dye hair nowadays? God I'm getting old. Used to have to be old enough to get a job to pay for that dye job and the monthly upkeep -- if you wanted to 'act like a grown woman' you had to step up and take responsibility.

Do people never realize that comments often expose themselves, and not the object of their scorn?
