Keith Olbermann blasted Fox News on Wednesday's "Countdown" after it was revealed that Republican candidates view the network as a prime source of fundraising for their campaigns.

"Turns out that Fox News is...not solely the communications arm of the GOP," he said. "It is also the fundraising arm of the GOP."

Olbermann criticized several candidates, but his chief target was Nevada Republican candidate Sharron Angle. He played footage that surfaced showing Angle saying that her appearances on Fox News led to a reliable stream of donations:

"When I get a friendly press outlet - not so much the guy that's interviewing me - it's their audience that I'm trying to reach...when I [went] on Sean Hannity's television show, we made $40,000 before we even got out of the studio in New York."

"Is that from the staff?" Olbermann joked.

Keith broke MSNBC's rule. The Tea Baggers can hold a rally outside FOX NYC studio on 30, Oct 2010 and have food trucks/cards for the people at the rally. Neil Cavoto thanks Roger Alies for the food on the air. This is trying to compare murder to a traffic ticket.

I've been reading some of the comments, & it finally hit me:

Any time KO, RM, MSNBC, etc. are mentioned, the tro//s hop on here & blather about how "Olberdouche ALWAYS/NEVER *whatever*, blah blah blah". This brilliance always ends with something along the lines of "Good thing no one watches MSNBC/knows who 'X' is".

HOW do these people know what KO/RM/MSNBC/etc. are doing/not doing on their programs unless THEY are watching the shows???

BUSTED!!!

Fox is worse than that, it's all about money for News Corp. Murdoch sells papers in England with bare-breasted women and would do the same here if it made money. It doesn't so he uses fear and loathing.

Excellent point, westral...and it seems that Cap'n Murdoch has more than tea brewing across the waters, as in a potentially HUGE email-hacking scandal involving his periodicals: http://www.newser.com/off-the-grid/post/544/murdochs-hacking-scandal-its-the-story-that-keeps-giving.html ...wonder when this will get some MSM coverage by the news outlets here?

..and he backs it up with real facts, unlike Fox-News specifically Shawn "coward" Hannity, and Bill O..just make up stories with no concrete evidence for political reasons.

Keith is right on. He and Rachel do their homework and have facts behind their assertions. Fox pulls opinions out of their posteriors and to heck with facts. Keep telling the truth Keith!! Love the fact that you have the guts to call them out.

Despite the continuous whining, grumbling and the using of personal attacks as 'rebuttals' from our right-wing 'wits' aside, one thing STILL irrefutable (except by our wacky-pack wingnutters, of course) is whether (or not) you like Keith, he and his staff DO research their stories BEFORE airing them, most unlike that oft-repeated bleat of 'fair and balanced news reporting' that you hear from the pompous and seemingly ever-angry prevaricators at Cluster-Fox, who don't 'do' research (but, who do employ a wealth of, shall we say...'talent' in their 'body language analysts'...and Dennis Miller, former comedian and current O'Really sock-puppet. Round out that smorgasbord of 'experience' with the likes of Beckles and Chuck Norris, and, well...there you are - 'research', quantified. *eyeroll*). Until Cluster-Fox can correct their long, shameful track record of inaccuracy-filled, rhetoric-ridden 'news reporting' (and we're not holding our breath on THAT momentous event taking place anytime soon), Keith will continue to point out their blatant, ill-willed hypocrisy, and Cluster-Fox (and its denizens) will continue to garner the ridicule they oh-so richly deserve...

FIXED NEWS is the propaganda wing of the Republican party.

They are a 24 hour a day Republican infomercial.

How average working class Americans allow themselves to be duped by the
lies, spin and distortions that parade as facts I can not understand.

Democrats are working to provide policies that help support the middle class.

Republicans are working to provide policies that help support campaign donations.

There was a time when ownership of media conduits like TV. print and radio came with standards and rules, like one couldn't actively participate in politics so as to remain an unbiased source of information for the public and ethically maintain journalistic standards. Nowadays it's legal to lie, create false stories, misrepresent information. Unfortunately no one shared this particular memo with the general public.

The strange thing is someone like Sharron Angle could never get on KO's show if she wanted to. He never, ever entertains opposing views.

Faux is in no way shape or form a legitimate news organization, it is nothing but 100% GOP propaganda, it was created for that very reason. Faux needs to be exposed for what it is.

Wrong...MSNBC dose not make stuff up.

MSNBC do not claim to be News. "The Place for Politics" not news. Now faux noise claims to be a valid news source "NOT". Rename to "Fox the place for the GOP" or "the place for the Tea baggers".

Ugh, does Olbermann ever look at his OWN network?? This guy is freakin blind, he can't even drive his own car and fails to recognize the obvious bias at his own network.

When has Olbermann ever had an opposing view on his show?? C'mon, this guy defines angry, hateful, hypocrite.

A Real Republican - not a Right Wingnut
05:12 PM on 09/26/2010
Love your logic. Look at the entire spectrum of the Networks and all MSM
All News Networks are part of Mega, Multi-National Corporations
MSNBC does have three (and as of Monday, four) prime-time shows that are left of center. So, the other 20 hours a day they are pretty much centrist.
Now look at Fox "News" - they, too, have prime-time shows that are off center - very right of center. Now, look at the educational level of the host. Other than BillO, the rest of Fox has NO college education.

Now consider the rest of Fox's line up during the morning, mid-day and evening. It is all jingoism all the time. The notion of "Fair and Balanced" is two fold - one to use a oxymoron; and to explain how they are to Right Wing viewers.

I am a Life Long Republican and I do actually watch Fox and MSNBC. I enjoy MSNBC - I laugh AT Fox. But, I am an educated person. So, I know when I am being lied to....

Comments?

"the rest of Fox has NU college education".....You need to take another look.
They ALL have degrees. And all have worked their professions befor going to
Fox. If you are going to make a statement - make an honest one.

Im reading the threads from the rightards and my response is "Huh, are they missing the part that their candidates are stupid enough to say these things?" Dems know if you wanna get your message to a friendly audience you go to MSNBC. Rightards know their home turf is Fox, but have you ever heard a Dem dumb enough to espouse that they use MSNBC to raise money? Talk about blowing the image Fox was trying to keep as "Fair and Balanced." I mean it was always a laugh but even the rightards cant be dumb enough to fool themselves in to thinking this is actually news they are getting? It's GOP talking points 24/7. Thats it. Rightards you get no news. Since all sources of actual NEWS that are not Fox, which of course is just GOP tv, are branded as "main stream media" and just out to getcha they have no access to NEWS at all. Atleast we Dems get MSNBC then we can go fact check it with other news sources. All you rightards get are boiler plate talking points. Once you admit that to yourself you might want to start thinking about getting some outside info. I dont know then maybe you could realize that the GOP has always been the big spending party not the dems? I dunno maybe you could realize that every modern Republican administration has ended with financial disaster?
