Karl Rove Headlining Fundraiser For Gardner, Frazier, Tipton

Former Bush advisor Karl Rove will be in Aspen on Friday to headline a fundraiser for three Republican Colorado congressional candidates.

Funds generated by the event, which will cost $75 to attend, will benefit the campaigns of Scott Tipton (CD-3) , Ryan Frazier (CD-7) and Cory Gardner (CD-4), all of whom are attempting to defeat incumbent Democrats.

Rove, who was born in Denver, is considered the architect of Republican electoral victories during the early party of the decade, but saw his popularity fade dramatically at the end of the Bush presidency.

Rove's political organization, American Crossroads, has already poured $1.04 into defeating Democratic Senator Michael Bennet. The organization, which has primarily focused on Senate races, is now looking to become involved in house races as well. A spokesman tells Politico it is also in the process of making "strategic decisions" about which congressional candidates to support.
