Christine O'Donnell's Controversial Past Spoofed In 'SNL' Season Opener (VIDEO)

Last night on the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live," the cold opening mocked none other than Republican senate nominee Christine O'Donnell. Her anti-masturbation stance, former fascination with witchcraft, and conspiracy theory about mice with human brains provided more than enough material for 'SNL' to work with.

In a sketch with Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader, O'Donnell, played by Kristen Wiig, sat down to discuss the RNC's role in her Delaware senatorial campaign. In order to prevent any further PR disasters, the men try to pry all the skeletons from O'Donnell's closet. After a few minutes, it becomes obvious there are enough controversial bits of O'Donnell's past to fill an entire episode of "Politically Incorrect" that go way beyond masturbation and a teenage curiosity in witches.

99% of Americans don't know where Delaware is, no less who is running for its senate. I guess SNL is looking for MSNBC type ratings.

Anyone who is paying attention knows who is running for Senate in Delaware.
She has been a source of entertainment for months.
And if a person didn't know where Delaware was before O'Donnell hit the scene, they do now! LOL!!!

Wiig is so versatile, love her.

SNL should be sending thank-you notes to Republicans for giving them Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell.  No one could have made these two up.

In order to satirize some one ,you have to be able to subtly go beyond what the person is saying. Christine O'Donnell has so often moved so much further into outer space that it becomes impossible to satirize her. She is her own satire.

O'Donnell may not be a witch anymore, but she certainly is a very poor candidate that the Republicans have for Senate. There are so many reasons to NOT vote for this woman, but out-of-staters are pouring millions into her campaign anyway. Chris Coons is actually from Delaware, and has spent his adult life working and paying taxes in Delaware, unlike Christine O'Donnell. She is not from Delaware, has not worked here much, if at all, didn't pay taxes for years, until forced to. She doesn't have Delaware's back. She is in this race for herself, and to get famous and make a bunch of money off of suckers, like Sarah Palin does.

I should say Abby Elliott makes a better impersonation of O'Donnell. But Wiig gets the priority.
03:10 AM on 09/28/2010
Yes, for once, Wiig was terrible. Which I didn't know was possible....

I didn't think there could be anyone offering as good an opportunity to SNL as Palin did, but now I know I was wrong.

People who support O'Donnell don't watch SNL. If they even hear of this episode, they'll rush to her support and condemn it as left wing bashing of their beloved candidate. Let's get real about the evolution and global warming deniers. They band together against truth.

I imagine that people on the far right are energized by such rube stereotypes. SNL, which consists mostly of lame parodies of current media and genital humor, is hardly challenging fare for dummies. As much as we like to assume that tea partiers and Beckers can't operate a TV remote or surf the Net, the right continues to be way more media-savvy by far than the left. Waaay more. For instance, as Rachel Maddow pointed out tonight, the right has the sense to campaign nationally for the midterm elections, whereas we don't.

Excellent. Saturday Night Live took now Sarah Palin - Now SNL will take down Sarah Palin's impersonator. In her defense, I think Christine O'Donnell misrepresented herself to Sarah Palin's advisors, because Christine O'Donnell appears deceptive. Sarah Palin has thousands of people defending her. I know, Palin's supporters hacked into my phone records and I had to buy a new phone number, phone, and carrier. I don't know how the facts surround O'Donnell got by Sarah Palin?
