Ed Schultz: Chris Christie A 'Cold-Hearted Fat Slob' (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   Danny Shea First Posted: 09/27/10 07:25 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:50 PM ET

Ed Schultz Chris Christie

MSNBC's Ed Schultz railed against New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Friday night, urging him to "calm down" and calling him a "cold-hearted fat slob" in the process.

Schultz took exception with Christie's political style, saying that he "throws his weight around" and is a "big bully" who often shouts and yells at his constituents or opponents before claiming the moral high ground to shut down discussion.

He added that Christie "hides behind his buddies in the conservative media" — like Glenn Beck, who is his new biggest fan — "and tells his own constituents to sit down and shut up."

"Here's the bottom line: what we're seeing out of this governor of New Jersey is just go to the money, cut whoever you have to cut, there is no ramification for any of this because he's a cold-hearted fat slob anyway," Schultz said. "The bottom line is, when he doesn't like what he hears he accuses the other side of shouting. It's a typical, typical right-wing approach to the competition. And that's how they view their constituents when they don't agree with them."

Review past New Jersey Governors. Last guy, Wall Streeter, couldn't buy a relection. Christy Todd Whitman, signed off on 911 as head of EPA. Many more odious facts I didn't bother to look up.

Chris Christie, the Rethugs and the Teapottynuts are the party of DICTATORSHIP.

And you don't dare question the Dictatorship, plus there is no FREE SPEECH.

Ed is so right on in this clip. That Christi guy is the fattest slob I have seen since the beginning of my 58 year old life. What a WART HOG.

And his ideas stink too. Where does he get off stumping in a state where he isn't wanted? Whitman too. She is an outsider. Their party is trying to destroy California.... they're trying to steal the entire state.

SHAME ON MSNBC for reprimanding Ed for speaking the truth about the tonnage of this person.

To anyone planning to see New Jersey governor Christie, the newest Republican darling, touring America with his message of reform: Ask him about "Race to the Top", Obama's state-education program to which New Jersey submitted a blundered application which cost the state $400M in funding. Lest Christie (gasp!) LIE about it, the truth is that a question about 2008-9 funding was answered using 2010-11 figures, which Education Commissioner and Christie bedfellow Bret Schundler inserted after editing out the 2008-9 figures, an egregious grade-school blunder never caught by a $500K consultant. Christie's only responses: blame Washington, fire Schundler, and hide the consultant; but the fact is, Christie can't get more than 51% of NJ's districts to participate in Race to the Top.

I am an older American male who could stand to lose about 40 pounds. That excess weight much like Ed's extra poundage also qualifies me to agree with Ed, that Chris Christie is a fat slob. We Americans have always had a place in our hearts for overweight comedians, chefs, opera singers and people who are generally NOT scumbags. Only when these lovable, happy go lucky characters die or do something stupid, do we consider them in a negative light. Best example is Mr. Creosote from Monty Pythons, 'The Meaning of Life'.

But more importantly, Phil Griffin's over inflated sense of self importance regarding his role at MSNBC is as unhealthy as our excess weight.

This a-hole works for the true progressive and honest news and commentary source for the 52 + - percent of America with enough sense to see thru the over edited network nightly news.

This oppressive little punitive human resources personnel punk better wake up and look to see just who makes up the demographic that his sophomoric and unnecessarily punitive censorship campaign is not sitting well with.

That’s us, Phil. Take your pathetic attempt to exert discipline, and your desk set and whatever office supplies little rats like you steal from work and go to FOX NEWS where worms like you can have their way with working people. Yes, Phil, MSNBC commentators and journalists are working people and we know how to take a-holes like you to the EEOC, NLRB and Federal Court

Oh Oh I have such a problem with this man....I live in Pa. right along the river....we share the news media locally.
This fa t f#$$...gets elected (with help from radical progs...who thought Corzine was some devil because he ..gulp...once worked for a big bank......so did my uncle by the way...guess what I like him, he's a good guy.)..so he gets elected and the first thing he does as he walks through the door..is to cut education by a billion ........chopped it.
When Newark's schools received a 100 million gift...there he was CC... standing there to help accept the money.....Now during this education summit...there he is running his mouth ...pushing his weight around....basically campaigning for 2012...because he's all the buzz as the new face of the party and possible presidential contender.. I think that's why he acts like a tuff guy...he wants to be the anti Obama.
Not working for him
He keeps bragging how he can work with the opposition...well, he ll yeah...dems always are willing to work with repugs...just not the other way around....he should get 0 credit for that.
I don't know how the good people of NJ voted this man into office....

He also completely cut all funds for any family planning in NJ. All of it. Pap smears, breast exams, birth control, all of it.

Meg Witless wants to do the same thing to CA. Don't let her do it!

NJ HAD the best school system going - so what does a Chicken-Hawk want to do - destroy it. A dumb vote is "better" than a smart vote. You can control "dumb". This is part of the RNC masterplan. An educated America is a real threat to the Republican Party - and they fear that more than anything.

he should have never been elected...this is an example of progs pushing a third party candidate....
NOT NOW...the price is too precious...the country is in too big of a mess.
Hey....Corzine did a lot of good for NJ.....he had education up from something like...41 to 4th in the country...man took no pay for being governor....he did a lot of good for the poor who have resided in AC for decades....

I agree - I let my vote not count. I won't do that again! We all took it for granted the other guys would carry the day - that's why we MUST TURN OUT IN FORCE this cycle.

Cold-hearted fat slob? That's offensive.

Gov. Christie is only cold-hearted prior to hauling himself out on a big, warm rock to bask in the sun for a few hours.

"and calling him a "cold-hearted fat slob" in the process."

This from a man with a nice double chin of his own. Whatever happened to professionalism in journalism? If you disagree with the man, tell him why, explain where he has erred. Only those with no critical insight resort to childish name calling.

On a serious note, I listened to Ed today on radio and he really needs to either research his topics when it comes to New Jersey or just stop talking because he's got it wrong:

Watch Christie explain to a teacher why there were layoffs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkuTm-ON904

"He's (Christie) asked New Jersey teachers to take a one year wage freeze and that they also contribute 1.5% of their salary towards their health benefits. The teacher's union responded by calling it the "greatest assault on the public education in the history of the state."

Who's paying for Cris Christie to be in LA? Is that tax payer dollars? Is he "on vacation"? What is he doing on the NJ tax payer dime? Helping someone in California? WTF does Chris Christie know about California? Oh and by the way, real Californians could care less about someone from NJ whom won during a down cycle and the corruption of the state prior to his basically getting handed a win. It won't hold. He won vis-a-vis a low voter turn out.
