Not surprising he turned out the way he did given his upbringing. Read his book and you'll see. I still like the guy.

Didn't know he had a book... I'll have to check it out. I like him too.

The guy finds alcoholic drinks named after him to be in poor taste. Guess what...they kind of are. So he tweets about it.

Slow news day or what?

Daly needs to concentrate on his golf game and not draw attention to his "history."

Couldn't agree anymore.

I've always liked John Daly. I plan on doing my part to help him out in his search for drinks named after him. Think I'll do a canvas of the bars in my area. This may take awhile, but anything to help out John-Boy.

I've always lik Daly. I can't think of many atheltes I'd wanna hang out with. He's real and doesn't pretend to be anything else. I especially like when he lights up a cig and puffs it on national television. Nothing like a big FY to PC.

So much to worry about...so little time.

John is actually a really nice guy with huge alcohol abuse and gambling problems that began as a teenager.

He has a wonderful touch on the golf course and I wish him the best of luck and fortune in the future.

John, I feel for you.

"Two-time PGA major champ John Daly gambled away between $50 and $60 million in career earnings, according to his 2006 autobiography. Daly once lost $1.65 million in five hours playing the slot machines at a casino. If you think that’s impressive, there’s more. Daly blew $1.2 million in a mere two hours and 30 minutes at a casino in Las Vegas. He just had his $1.6 million house foreclosed on. Did Daly quit gambling after blowing so much cash at the casino tables? Not by a long shot. Instead, he decided to downgrade from the $5,000 slot machines to the $100 and $500 machines. It looks in John Daly’s world, that is considered sound financial planning."

Maybe he needs some financial help ?

I've always wanted to play those 5000.00 slots. I just couldn't get myself to press the button.

I remember him coming to the plant when I worked at PING Golf equipment for a free set of clubs with an employee meeting etc., because he was going to start using their clubs. Well, the Solheims are very religious and when the alcohol stories and the troubles of John Daly came out they no longer wanted him using their clubs. Things haven't changed much in 20 years.

And this is strange? The guy was a drunk, and he cleaned himself up (at least to a considerable degree). What a stupid headline this is. Let's start naming cocktails after Elvis, or J. Hendrix, or Anna Nicole. Would it be "strange" to call that in poor taste?

I am sure there are many John Daly's in the world..can he claim all proprietary rights to the name? I could see if they used his image but it is a rather common name. I am sure it is named after him, but I still think he might not be the winner here. If it were a golf product, perhaps but a drink? I suggest the menus just right in an i and make it a John Daily.

The man isn't making any money playing golf anymore, he blew through the millions he made early in his career, he only has that sad show on the Golf Channel "Being John Daly".

So I guess he's looking to protect the trademark of his name, or get some quick cash in selling a license for it.

Guess I have to applaud his efforts. This man has had a strange life. Can't imagine how hard it is to be in the public eye.
