7 Crazy Subway, Bus, and Public Transportation Stories (PHOTOS)

Huffington Post     First Posted: 09/29/10 09:11 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 06:50 PM ET

Sometimes riding the same commute every day can be tedious. Luckily we have performers, innovators, and one direction-challenged German to shake things up.

We've rounded up some of the most interesting things to happen to mass transit in the past few years. Would you want this to happen on your commute? What are some wild things that have happened to you?

Improv Everywhere
1 of 8
Let’s start with the kings of public transportation hijinks: Improv Everywhere. From a no-pants subway ride, to a reenactment of a scene from Star Wars, to high fiving all the tired passengers taking the stairs from the train, to creating a human mirror, (do you want me to keep going?) Improv Everywhere entertains on what is usually a boring commute.

If the train I take to work or where my destination maybe, is this fast. I won't have any commuters anxiety or post traumatic syndrome.

I take the public transportation everyday. I'd seen it all. Nothing shocks me anymore, unless it's me.

"On their website, the creators discuss the 'busycle' within the context of urban renewal, *environmental racism*, cooperation, and climate change. But besides all that, it looks like fun!"

Am I missing a new poorly made term, or is this just that poorly written???

So they'll unite the different masses in their mutual hatred for opera?

Think of all those nasty bottoms and do you don't want to sit down on most public transportation. Have you reviewed the sexually transmitted diseases statistics lately? Oh, and the wonderful scents to take in. Drunks on the way home, smug business holier than thou low lifes and 'car's out' flunkies in sweat suits and larger-than-life take-up-your-seat too folks not to mention drivers with attitudes who drive like your mother without glasses and its so slow you can catch up on that novel you want to write. I can't wait!

"Have you reviewed the sexually transmitted diseases statistics lately?" I have not. What are the statistics on contracting a sexually transmitted disease on a subway?

I thought this article was about something more interesting like things that have happened to people while on public transportation. I could write a book about all of the crazy stuff that has happened to me.

I can think of some other crazy things I've seen on public transportation, but you wouldn't want to post photos of it.

Even if there were low income areas of Santa Fe, why would any low incomers be interested in opera? On the other hand, Santa Fe is like the third most traveled to tourist destination in the US and coincidentally has an opera house.

Why would low-income Santa Fe'ans not be interested in opera? unless, maybe they've never been exposed to good opera. Santa Fe has a world class opera fest every summer. It is a very big deal on the 'opera circuit' worldwide.
I think it's a great idea to expose the local residents from hi-to-low to one of the most sought after summer performances in the world, which is in their own town. IMHO, it's about time the SFOpera made some effort to extend a hand to the community.
