The Bowery used to be known for its graffiti and the punk rockers who hung out at CBGB's and was more well-known for its lighting and restaurant supply stores than for its clothing shops. But now the street is bursting with trendy restaurants and bars, spilling over into the surrounding streets (and alleys).
Some of New York's coolest stores have migrated to the Bowery itself, a location pioneered by fashion-rebel and Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field.
