The Huffington Post     First Posted: 09/29/10 10:49 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 06:55 PM ET

Comedian Greg Giraldo tragically passed away this morning, shocking the entire comedy community and prompting an outpour of sadness online. A genuinely hilarious and intelligent stand-up comedian, Giraldo had a degree from Harvard law, was a longtime member of the Comedy Central family and is leaving behind a wife and four children.

We will always remember his numerous stand-up appearances, as well as his time on "Last Comic Standing," but his most memorable performances were at the Comedy Central Roasts. From Pam Anderson and David Hasselhoff, to Flavor Flav and Joan Rivers, Giraldo was truly the King of the Roast. Watch clips from all of his Comedy Central Roasts below and remember him with us.

My heart is saddened to hear about this - I was a fan. My beautiful sister passed away from the same thing 7 years ago. I hope his family has the strength and courage to get through this together.

I liked Greg and am sad to see him go so young. I'm mad at him for killing himself with drugs. While I think he was great on every roast he did, I don't think it's fair to pronounce him "King of the Roasts". That title has to go to Jeffrey Ross.

What a horrible way to be remembered! Your whole career summed up as your best appearances on roasts! I can hear Red Buttons now: "Greg Giraldo - never got a dinner!"

Well done. I just saw a couple of his roasts re-aired tonight. It's so sad he's gone. I was too tuckered out on the Friday he was playing a comedy club not far from me, "The Stress Factory" in New Brunswick, NJ. Turns out that was his last show of his life. I will regret missing that forever.

Most of these have been taken down. CC should put up its own tribute page then.

tell me again how bush got into yale? nepotism? and why did he join the TX air national guard and then disappear to snort coke? nepotism, family connections and so he could avoid deployment. you want to talk about a 'joke?' bush was elected president, well at least the second time he was. haha funny funny

nepotism of course...as a labor left dem i never supported either bush.

i went to columbia at the same time as obama - he was not even a transfer student - he got there as an "exchange student" (youdidnt have to have good grades or test scores to do this) and burrowed his way in.

Though he didnt graduate with honors (which his campaign implied and it seemed to me that 3/4s of the class did) he suomehow....got into Harvard Law.

Hmm... a guy who went to a elite prep school in Hawaii and whose grandmother was a bank VP used affirmative action programs to get into that school - is that any better than Bush using his family's legacy connections at yale

im like 40% of dems in recent polls - I want Obama out and a real Dem in.

Best Giraldo bit ever:

I read this book recently and it was filled with letters that soldiers during the Civil War wrote to their girlfriends back home. Every letter in this book was amazing. They were like, "My Dearest Hannah, This morn finds me wrecked by the fiery pangs of your absence. I'll bear your cherished memory with me as I battle the forces of tyranny and oppression." Now imagine the typical letter from your average Gulf War solider to his girlfriend back home in Brooklyn must read like: "Dear Marie, It is hot as f**k out here. It is hard to fight these sand monkeys with your balls stuck to the side of your leg. It is very very hot and I am very very sweetie. It is very very hot because I am in the dessert. What else did I want to axe you? Oh yeah, don't f**k nobody til I get back."

The guy was brilliant.

I recall his bit about going to a strip club and there's always one dude who thinks a stripper is into him.

I can't stand that we've lost Greg Giraldo. What a waste of a VERY funny and twisted mind.
The roasts will never be the same, his absence will be very greatly missed. Many heart felt thoughts go out to his family.

Don't know who he was. I do hate it when celebrities "accidentally" OD on prescription drugs. We have to hear over and over "he was such a great Talent! What a terrrible loss". Then we have to hear from the pillpopper's mom and dad and girl friend about how great a son or baby daddy he was. Drugs kill. get over it.

Wow, what a nice person. Maybe the parents and family can't get over it; you know, their son/brother/partner just died. And maybe you could keep your nasty thoughts to yourself and simply not post. The fact that he took drugs does not make him a bad person. But whatever, you don't even care to find out whom he is and yet you can't resist sharing your lovely thoughts. As I said, what a nice person you are.

His routines were so much better than his roast appearances.
"A Good Day To Cross A River" is hysterical.
