Call us bookworms, but we're dying to travel the Southern literary trail, or at least a version of it. Writers like Faulkner, Hemingway, O'Connor--they're our heroes. So we decided to make our own Southern literary trail to visit.

There are so many literary landmarks in this country, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Oxford, Mississippi

Rowan Oak is the former home of William Faulkner. Built in 1844, it lies just south of the square in downtown Oxford. It is now owned and operated by the University of Mississippi. The house is open every day except Mondays.
