Maybe we're city mice, but we just love the look of a skyline. They're always so enchanting and enthralling to at--what with the varying heights of buildings and colors.

It's a really bad shot of Toronto. Bad angle and aseveral years out of date. It's has a different sense of mass if you include the 30-40 tall buildings that have been added !

Been to all of them except Tulsa. Tulsa??

I agree with others that the Miami skyline is beautiful, from all directions. Here are some great shots (of course the fireworks help, but it's beautiful without them, as well). http://giltphoto.com/Night-Photography.htm

The Hong Kong skyline is amazing, but you have to see it from the ground to comprehend how giant the buildings are. Not impressed with the photo they chose. Here's a beautiful photo from the Hong Kong Tourist Board website: http://www.discoverhongkong.com/login.html

I lived in Hong Kong for several years. You are so right. HK has the most breathtaking skyline. Seeing it from any spot on the harbor brings it all home. They needed a shot at night shooting HK Island form the Kowloon side.

My thought exactly, LLisa! I don't know why a tourist site would only have that one photo.

I envy your opportunity to live there. My sister lived there for several years, which is how I got to visit.

Tulsa? And Paris doesn't have a "skyline" except for La Defense.
Paris happens to be the world's most beautiful city.

Agreed that Pittsburgh, PA is missing but so glad you threw Tulsa, Ok in!

A fine collection of great skylines in lousy pictures, plus some truly lousy skylines.

The picture of the San Francisco skyline sucked too.

Really, there are taller skyscrapers, but what those other cities don't have is this :

Couldn't they have gotten a better picture of London?

ydrittmann I think you are attempting to take the piss. Yes there are a million great shots of London. A happy snap 60 meters to the left of this photo in front of the Tate Modern looking up the Millenium Bridge at St Pauls would have been nice.
As for the food. You're right. London now has a large range of ethnic styles to a standard.
Much better than Paris (my fav EU city)

Great photos. Seems like something like this would be better using the Big Shots. More dramatic.

All wonderful, but too bad they didn't take the Toronto one from the islands... it's spectacular from there!

I now live in Miami and the nighttime skyline is fantastic.

OTOH, I couldn't believe my eyes when in San Diego a few years. Thought it was the ugliest skyline, by far, I'd ever seen. (Mebbe I just needed a good laxative that day!)

Did someone put Tulsa in here as a joke? I would expect to see Detroit before them.

The 900-foot tall Jesus is spectacular at sunset.

Are you speaking of butter Jesus?
