Joe Miller Tweets His Chickens Before They Hatch

The Huffington Post

The real news from Alaska's Senate race on Thursday might be that Sen. Lisa Murkowski's write-in bid poses a more potent threat to GOP candidate Joe Miller than originally thought -- but don't tell that to the Tea Party-backed insurgent who appears confident that he already has the race in the bag more than a month out.

Miller took to his Twitter page to do a little premature endzone dancing, telling his followers that he planned to do "house hunting" and furniture shopping, as well as address "the matter of a name plaque for the door" on an upcoming fundraising trip to Washington.

Here's a screenshot of what Miller's Twitter feed looked like last night, courtesy of the Mudflats:

After a few initial volleys of criticism about the upstart Senate candidate "measuring the drapes," the posts have been taken down.

It's not the first social media stumble that Miller's campaign has had to deal with. Last month, he was forced to take down and apologize for a tweet that compared then-primary opponent Lisa Murkowski to prostitute.

The latest CNN/Time Poll (9/24 - 9/28) only gives Miller a 2% lead over write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski (Note to Alaskans - see how easy it is to spell her name!), 38% - 36%, with Democrat Scott McAdams at 22%.

According to RealClearPolitics 9/30/10 comment on the race, the poll "shows a much closer race between Murkowski and Miller. Incidentally, the problem with all of this polling is that voters  Read More...

Joe Miller can be compared to Fidel Castro, like most Tea Baggers, Miller just wants to be in Power for his own personal benefit. Tea Baggers want the government to work for them but they don’t a government working for anybody else.

Tea baggers as a unified doctrine seem terribly ununified. While seemingly against government and its intervention, many of the doctrines they support appear to collide with one another - everything from reduced government spending to increased military intervention; from social interventions and regulation to libertarianism. Either this will make for a hilarious congress or a congress that is simply out to exact revenge without even knowing who they are after.

But on your original point, I do think many of the Tea Baggers are purely out for themselves and no one else. As a perfect example, in my district, Randy Altschuler is presumed to have won with large tea bagger support. However, he apparently goes for whatever party or platform he thinks will win. Two years ago, he was a Green Party member - probably because he had bought a recycling company. Prior to that, he owned the largest American-owned professional outsourcing company in located in India, OfficeTiger. Sell American jobs overseas and get paid for it - what a novel idea.

He is a clear example of someone who is out for their own personal benefit at the expense of other people. Maybe, many of the Tea Baggers are really Carpet Baggers at heart.

Want to turn off the Tea Partiers to Joe Miller? Make sure they know that he is a graduate of elitist Yale University. He's playing a character to win their votes—a character who utters his own prepared applause lines. Joe is in on the joke. He knows he's a sham; but the voters need to know it before it's too late.

From Syrin's Blog (an Alaskan, a Wasilla relative - yes that Wasilla - and a conservative who long ago got Palin and friend's numbers):

"The public records raise new questions about the indigent status of the Millers, who, before they got the low-income licenses, were able to obtain a mortgage and start the remodel that would more than double the size of the home."

This creep should definitely be dissed by the voters of Alaska who want to be represented in the senate by someone who is more congenial and who would be looking out for "their" interest instead of his own.

This tea party tart is nothing but a blank slate on which the Palinistas will write their agenda of religiosity and women control. All women of Alaska should take note that this man will take your rights away from you bit by bit until you will wake up one day and have nothing to protect yourself with. These religious tea party freaks are after total control to their way of thinking and living. Freedom as you know it will no longer exist.

You need to wake up and smell the coffee so you can kick this tart to the curb quickly.

If I'm reading the blogger correctly, there's another "uh oh" about to break on Sarah's pet Bagger Joe.

"A few years back, a judicial magistrate hired his wife in violaton of nepotism rules. He had to fire his wife, who then went on to claim unemployment benefits.

A few years later the judicial magistrate, now a U.S. Senate candidate stated on national television that unemployment benefits were unconstitutional.

And that story hasn't even come out in public yet."

Thanks.

"October 3, 2010: Staffers for the Tea Party group that fueled Joe Miller's stunning GOP primary upset of Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska actually campaigned around the state on a luxury cruise liner, Salon has reported, even as they touted fiscal responsibility."

What a shame. They will cut everything the people need to survive as they keep their luxuries in tact for their kind. And this is who Alaska will choose for their senator?
03:36 AM on 11/19/2010
Excellent article catch about the hypocrisy of it all - Miller's campaign staff conducts a lavish, ostentatious display on the demonstrative level of Thorstein Veblen's "conspicuous consumption", while he is campaigning on a platform to cut spending. It couldn't be more perfect.
