From my experience on college campus, most students don't care rather one student is gay or not. That is not good enough for many gays, they like to shove the fact that they are gay into your face.

What? By being honest about who they are?

Please define "shove the fact that they are gay into your face." What do they do? Hold hands? Kiss? Date? Talk about their dating life? What do they do that heterosexuals or straight couples do not do that shoves their sexuality into your face? If you're going to level charges, have some examples.

Well, what if they talk openly about their sex life? That's akward and inappropriate for anyone to do. I have friends that do that and if they are gay or straight it's still gross to me..

I see this as both a gay issue and a personal privacy issue. Tyler Clementi was singled out by Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei as a target because he was gay and that is what led to the tragedy that ended in his suicide. Yet it is also a privacy issue --- individuals in our society, thanks to the ability to being able to hide behind Internet social networking, is becoming more calloused toward each other and people don't think twice about the vicious things they say to each other or publicizing individuals' personal business.

I do not see this as a just a gay issue. This is an invasion of privacy. This is broadcasting someone's personal sex life without his permission. This is public humiliation. This is bullying which caused a young man to become so distraught that he took his life. He was young and not equipped to deal with the backlash. The two responsible for this should be charged with manslaughter. They MUST be given a severe sentence to make an example of the evil mind which would do something so intrusive. Yes, the young man chose to take his life; however, this would NEVER have occurred had it not been for the malicious and deceptive trickery of the two Rutgers students who took it upon themselves to publically broadcast the sexual encounter. I hope the judge throws the book at both of them. It is pure evil.

The unsafe place on campus is being in the closet. Once you are out and ready to fight for yourself there are resources you can at least try to get on your side. As long as you are unwilling to stand up for yourself you are a target.

Well, considering most college students just act like high schoolers that have been let loose, this isn't surprising news. It sucks, but the change needs to happen long before college.

Why?

If I was a straight girl I would love to have a gay male room mate.
If I was a straight boy I would love to have a gay male room mate to introduce me to all the girls.

You assume that a gay male is going to hit on his room mate? As if a gay guy has much interest in dating someone who is not attracted and may not even be attractive?

I wish I thought about sex as much as you think about me having sex.
