Edward Rosenthal, 64, has been found alive after spending six days in California's Joshua Tree National Park.
The real state agent had planned to take an afternoon hike, and though an experienced hiker, he got lost. He was faced with scorching heat and was soon without food and water.

"I don't think I'm going to make it," he wrote in a note to his family on his hat, per an ABC News report (watch below).
Search teams had been looking for Rosenthal in helicopters, and when they found him, he couldn't stand or walk. He was immediately taken to a hospital for care, where he is now listed in "fair condition."
"It really was miraculous," said his wife Nicole Kaplan.
