'SNL' Takes On Rahm Emanuel's White House Exit (VIDEO)

Last night on "Saturday Night Live," the show opened up with a sketch making fun of White house Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's exit from the White House, and his aggressive nature.

Andy Samburg reprised his Emanuel impression and Bobby Moynihan played a terrified Pete Rouse, who recieves some extreme advice on how to be President Obama's Chief of Staff, including carrying a rasor blade in his mouth at all times.

"SNL" had a lot of fun mocking Emanuel's apparent lack of social skills and painted Rouse as a weaker replacement, but we're wondering: when is Fred Armisen going to stop playing Barack Obama and let newcomer Jay Pharoah - who does an amazing impression of the President - take a stab at it?

Very sad to see Rahm go. I think SNL pulled this off well. The fat that they didn't let rahm off the leash is why the dems lost their aggressiveness.

I'm sure there will be many more humorous interludes in the next two years.

Bad Obama but great Rahm. They really need to find another Obama.

how brave of them to "take it on" -- they sure are thinking "outside the box" -- I think they are also talking on Q-card reading...

Yes, Jay P should do Obama and bring back Julia Louis Dreyfus and Tina Fey for a Christine ODonnell/ Sarah Palin sketch! Halloween maybe? Kristin W was a FAIL last week.

The irony in Rahmbo's persona is that his supposed toughness is only surpassed by his tendency to capitulate to political enemies in the name of cutting a deal.

I am more inclined to call the president's staff RahmWhite and the Seven Dwarfs. Show me a Democrat who can outmaneuver Republicans in tactical strategy, call their bluffs, and keep the Blue Dogs from derailing the Democratic agenda, and I will be happy to blend their name with Rambo or Terminator or whatever you want. I don't see how Rahm's actual performance is in line with his reputation as the tough guy. Just don't see it.

Tough guys are not generally know for being deep thinkers.

LOL... In other words, you want someone to deliver a miracle for the progressive minority in Congress. That is funnier than anything SNL has done in YEARS!
12:09 PM on 10/04/2010
progressives are quickly becoming the majority of the country however. Seeing as we've been on the right side of almost every major issue. Gay Marriage for instance. Polls now showing that the majority of Americans support it.

Miracles? No. Genuine fight for issues they support, yes. Americans are much more liberal than they think they are when you poll on individual issues.

Does anybody on SNL actually rehearse their lines or are they reading their cue cards for the first time on air? Samberg was looking at the cards and giggling so much it reminded me of ol' Laugh-through-the-entire-sketch Jimmy Fallon. He is so used to his inconsistently funny Digital Shorts that he completely sucks as a live performer.

The way Lorne Michaels runs things, a talented performer like Jay Pharoah will probably not see camera time for quite a while.

This episode was not that funny...SAD.
Miley Cirus, Cheerleader skit & The News were funny, everything else including music were BAD. Last really funny episode was the Betty White episode.
