Amendments 60 And 61, Proposition 101 Have Little Support In New Poll

Poll Shows Little Support For 60,61 And 101

The controversial ballot initiatives dubbed the 'Bad Three' or 'Ugly Three' by opponents (Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101) have little public support, according to a new Survey USA poll commissioned by 9News and the Denver Post.

The initiatives, which would sharply limit state and local governments' ability to raise revenue, all received roughly ten percent support in the poll, while nearly half of those surveyed opposed them. Meanwhile, roughly 40% responded to the survey by saying they were unsure how they would vote.

Earlier polling paid for by opposition groups showed the ballot measures with much stronger support.

The three measures have been the target of a well-funded and diverse opposition campaign. Among the many groups fighting the initiatives are the University of Colorado Board of Regents, the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp, and most Republicans in the State Legislature.
