Homeless Man's Moving 'Under Pressure' Lip Dub With Kermits (VIDEO)

First Posted: 10/04/10 03:51 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:55 PM ET

UPDATE: When we posted this video we wrote that the subject "appeared to be homeless," and today it has been revealed that he is not! We can't say it's a huge surprise (his homeless appearance had everything to do with his signage and nothing to do with this actual "appearance"). However, he stated today on his YouTube page that although he is a performer with a roof over his head, he made the video to bring attention to the plight of the homeless. So, it was all for a good cause. Plus - it's still a very entertaining lip dub!

PREVIOUSLY: We've seen some good lip dubs in our day, but this has to be the most touching one we've ever encountered.

The song is "under pressure" and the lip dub-ers in question are a man appearing to be homeless and his two Kermit puppets. He had our attention right off the bat with the promise of Queen/Bowie and Muppets, but his dedication to the lip dub is what really stands out.

The description on YouTube says the video was made to "entertain and inspire" and we can say it did both jobs pretty well. It also features a link to donate money to charities that help the homeless. (Via The Daily What)

This was wonderful.

The worst part is realizing that it is in the United States that we are watching this, and even more, understanding it.

Where did my country go?

I only wish he'd had Rolf, Fozzie, or Gonzo in the video instead of two Kermits. I love Kermit, but why two Kermits? I guess the others are harder to come by in puppet form. Anyway... This was totally awesome.

Though the saying goes that character is what we do when no one is watching, I'd have to respectfully disagree in this case. This fellow's character is well in tact and we are watching with a warmed heart. I hope this helps he and his family on a road to a better life.

I read the heading..then watched the video...it was joyous and sad together. It showed hope amid desperation. Then I read he wasn't homeless. At first I felt "used", then I told myself, talented
decent human beings are homeless. Millions have lost everything and are on the streets.
Like the puppets, this man represents something larger. A lesson for us all.

The Guy is not homeless. He is just trying to do his part in helping the homeless.

this was touching. funny idea, brilliant performance, and yet not even a little bit ridiculous: it's kinda funny in appearence, and yet the laughter just doesn't want to come out. how desperate does one have to be to do such a thing to simply survive?
i'm wishing the dude and his family all the best... may the muppets be with him!

"Appearing" homeless, is he really homeless?
