How Rick Sanchez Could Have Benefited From The 'Travel Teleprompter' (VIDEO)

After Rick Sanchez was fired days ago from CNN for making controversial remarks about Jewish people (specifically Jon Stewart) the jokes about his mindless gaffe are just starting to roll out.

The Full Ginsberg is starting us off with this hilarious commercial for the "Travel Teleprompter," a mobile app that helps you refrain from saying things like "Jews run the media" or "the N-word 11 times when talking to a black person," by scrolling pre-written, politically correct responses when you need them.

Imagine if Sanchez, Dr. Laura, or Helen Thomas had this handy app when they made their career-altering gaffes. (Thanks Eric C!)

I am a strong believer in 1st amendment. Bigots must freely be able to utter their bigoted views. It's better to see who is who than to watch smiley faces with concealed bigotry.

I'm not sure this makes much sense. The First Amendment isn't even applicable here, Sanchez isn't being fired by the government, after all. The First Amendment doesn't protect someone from private consequences such as widespread condemnation, loss of friendship, or being fired. The First Amendment only protects someone from governmental legal responses for a narrow range of speech. If Sanchez went further and advocated immediate actual violence against Jews he wouldn't even be protected from that.

I think you might have missed his point. I think he was simply saying "let them say how they feel, even if it's appalling, so we know who are the ones who are against "fill-in-the-blank", i.e. us."

There is nothing mindless about expressing hatred.
No journalists should be allowed to air personal hatred and prejudices and pretend that this or they have a shred of credibility.
Mr Sanchez deserved to be fired. Mr Sanchez has lost sight of truth in favor of prejudice.

I guess Sanchez can be written off as stupid because it's pretty settled territory that someone in media doesn't say publicly or privately that "Jews run the media," irrespective of how true that may be -- unless they're ready to retire.

Expressing an irrational resentment of Jews is not a "mindless gaffe." It is letting your true feelings show. It is stupidity and ignorance and self-destructiveness, but it is not a mindless gaffe. Those kinds of thoughts are nurtured and watered and tended daily. There's nothing mindless about it.
