Lisa Rinna's Lip Reduction Surgery

Lisa Rinna is dishing about lip reduction surgery she had in August. Never shy about her personal life, she and husband Harry Hamlin star in the upcoming reality show 'Harry Loves Lisa,' she talked about her body issues, breast implants and her sex life in her book 'Rinnavation' and she tweets things like bikini photos of herself.

She also talked about her lip injections gone awry while promoting 'Rinnavation' last year, which is why she had the corrective procedure in August. The silicone she had injected into her upper lip in the 1980s developed scar tissue, bulking it up and making the lip bumpy.

'My lips started to define who I am, Rinna, 47, tells People. 'That bothered me... I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings.'

And the surgery was a success. Now instead of feeling 'bumpy and uneven ... my lip has no lumps! It's smooth.'

Her lips will take six months to fully heal.

Hey she got more chutzpah than most Hollywood Stars (cough-Jolie) who never admit getting tweaked. I think it shows some pluck. Good on her. She is gonna look way better.

Really? The book is actually called, "Rinnavation"???? Reaganomics? I get that one. Obamacare? Okay. But come on....Rinnavation?! It's not like she's taken down a dictator or crafted an economic policy. She's famous for doing a little acting and having a swollen lip. I once had a swollen lip after a schoolyard brawl in Jersey. Can I be Chris-o-mania? Please...

Gee just look what hollyweird is doing to us? These so-called role models are all looking the same. Half of them can't move their jaws to smile. Sooner or later her lips might fall off. I don't get it. She seems so sweet, too.

I met Lisa Rinna at an acting workshop about 15 years ago. I hadn't heard of her before. I was quite impressed with her and her work. She was genuinely kind, smart and talented. Her continued success is no surprise to me - she's an engaging, caring woman.

Back in the 80s, Rinna was quite frank to have silicone injected into her upper lip while watching her husband Harry Hamlin. At first she loved, she told PEOPLE last year, but the cured silicone and the "Barbara Hershey" look she was going to do was ruined.
