Welcome to Stumptown, where the loggers are as old as the lager.

A recent visit to Portland had me singing praises of this top green travel destination. With great public transportation, amazing trails, organic IPAs (Pale Ale) and the freshest local cuisine-you'll trade in your heels for some muddy boots in no time.

If you’re on the go, hungry, and have a budget in mind, then Portland’s food trucks are all that. With several trucks to choose from, this is the best way to sample multiple, fresh and local cuisines. My truck pick is from Native Bowl (vegan) on Mississippi Ave and Skidmore. I ate their Mississippi Bowl, Chocolate Cup with Molten Sauce and a House Brewed Peach Rooibus Vanilla Tea all for $10. Breakfast, lunch and dinner…done and done!

I could also recommend a number of great restaurants in my home town, but it would take forever.

So are you saying I have a small bio?

Just don't tell them your from LA, or from southern California for that matter.

Don't leave Portland unless your going to do some kind of camping of fishing or other outdoor activity.

Portland is a lot like Austin Texas or Madison Wisconsin, incredible cities with great people and places surrounded by total crap. They could take the rest of the state of Oregon and wrap it up in a teabag and set it adrift for all I care. As great as the people in Portland will be, the ones who don't live in Portland and in turn hate Portland for what it has become, those people are some of the most horrible people you will ever meet.

Portland great town......the rest of Oregon, not so much.

Hmmm... some of us from Corvallis and Eugene wouldn't exactly agree with you...

Sorry, just expressing the frustration of how my family and I have been treated since moving to Oregon.
