Baylor Receivers Willie Jefferson, Josh Gordon Arrested

WACO, Texas — Two Baylor football players, including one of its top receivers, have been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Sophomore receivers Willie Jefferson and Josh Gordon are free on their own recognizance after their arrests.

Waco Police Sgt. Melvin Roseborough says officers were called just after 2 a.m. Sunday to a Taco Bell near the Baylor campus. They say they found a man passed out in the driver's seat of a car in the drive-through lane.

Roseborough identified the driver as Jefferson, with Gordon as Jefferson's passenger. The officers reported finding marijuana in the car.

Baylor said coach Art Briles has aware of the situation and had no comment. The Bears host Texas Tech on Saturday.

So, let me get this straight, there was enough time to notice the dude passed out in the take out lane slumped over the wheel passed out, my question, what was the passenger doing in between the time his buddy went nighty night and the time the police showed up. LOL. FAIL.

agreed...but baylor is a SOUTHERN BAPTIST university that's supportive of prohibition not just of weed but even alcohol...so, CONTEXTUALLY it IS a big deal. (of course, as student athletes, they'll get a pass)

The school is southern baptist. What does that even mean? Are the students bapists? The teachers? The agenda? That is a serious question, because I do not know. I attended a jesuit university and I am not religious. I couldn't tell you the first thing about jesuits or what made my university "jesuit" other than the original financing for the university.

If they are going to take political positions on drugs, etc., based on their loyalty to their religion then they should only allow southern baptists to attend and be athletes. Me thinks these players are not super religious.

Completely agree.

Taco Bell 2am = weed. Cops could arrest every single person going to Taco Bell after midnight.
