Since the 1960's Nan Goldin's work has confronted social taboos, as she documents her life and the lives, relationships, and experiences of those around her. Her subjects deal with the effects of drugs and AIDS, the intensity of intimate relationships, and the exploration of sexuality. Her work is grabbing, confrontational and real, hiding nothing from the viewer, exposing the complicated and emotional nature of human relationships.
