Triangular Warehouse Turned Into A Unique Bucktown Mansion (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 10/08/10 06:57 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:00 PM ET

Developer Bob Ranquist, known for his expertise in residential urban design, really outdid himself with a stunning property in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood that is now for sale.

According to Chicago Home and Garden magazine, the new home is the sixth Ranquist had built for his family in just 12 years.

"Our houses have been a way for Bob to flex his architectural muscle," Ranquist's wife told the magazine.

The home on North Leavitt Street features a master bedroom suite that takes up the entire fourth floor, a pine stairway and a secluded backyard garden--among many other perks.

Check out this unique rehab that transformed a triangular 8,600 square foot warehouse into a modern, loft-style single family home in Bucktown.

This 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom is currently listed at $3.27 million. Find out more about the property here.

Lovely architecture; the furniture can be more inviting.

Love the building, the decor dose not look like there's no real cozy spot, doesn't look
comfy to live in.

Whoah. Bucktown has come a looooooong way since we lived in Chicago! $3+ mill for that! I remember a friend moving to Bucktown and getting a Rottie as home security. And I agree with the person who said Chicago was a better place when people worked in warehouses instead of living in them.

I think it's pretty cool- interesting architecture, unique, and Bucktown is not that bad a neighborhood in the city.

I have to question why this story isn't labeled as an advertisement though. I certainly hope huffpost got paid for this because there is nothing newsworthy whatsoever.

The heating bill for all that open space is going to be ridiculous.

Awful. Like trying to live in a small office building. For $3.27M you could have a magnificent highrise property in downtown Chicago, complete with lake views.

I don't like it.

It doesn't look comfortable at all.

Eh, it's kind of cool, but you're basically paying 3.2 million for a loft.

These places look about as inviting and personable as a cocaine habit and is it really a miracle that the combination of quasi deep pockets matched with raw disused industrial space i.e. a basically blank canvas can be turned into something "fantastic?"

Must be for a man: tangled wires, cold, sterile-looking, uninviting.
