The answer in most cases is no. Most banks are indeed closed today, as it has been designated one of 11 federal holidays for 2010.
That said, U.S. markets are open for business as usual.
And some banks are in fact open. The best way to find out if your local bank is open is to give it a call or check its website. You might also check your local news outlet, as many are reporting on closings.
