Santiago Silva's Soccer Goal Celebration Simulates Cardiac Arrest (VIDEO)

Elaborate goal celebrations are becoming a bit of a trend, but this one may have gone too far. Santiago Silva, who plays for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina's First Division, took things in a new direction when he scored against Colon de Santa Fe on Sunday. The 30-year-old soccer player didn't please manager Ricardo Gareca after scoring the first goal in a 6-0 victory. Silva fell to the ground and pretended to have a heart attack while his teammates acted like they were reviving him. At first, Gareca was excited to take the lead, but then looked disgusted with the celebration. Scroll down to watch the video.

'Professional' sports - everywhere - has become the pastime of overgrown children.

This nonsense isn't limited to 'football'.

Considering how some players have died right on the pitch due to heart failure, thats one sick celebration.

Deplorable considering men have died on the field because of heart problems.

It looks more like a seizure than a cardiac arrest.

A lot like the frequent injury embellishments in soccer (where the aggrieved party gets falls to the ground, grasps their leg like they stepped on a land mine, then gets up and is obviously fine after they see the ref isn't going to call anything) - just like the boy who cried wolf- they do a disservice to those that actually are badly injured- especially considering 3 players in professional leagues have died of cardiac arrest on the field in the last decade.
