Mario Batali's restaurant Del Posto should still be celebrating its New York Times four star review.
Instead, twenty-seven current and former workers at Del Posto have filed a lawsuit "seeking owed wages and tips."
Sumathi Reddy from the Wall Street Journal reports:
The suit alleges that Del Posto's management took 8% to 9% of its its nightly wine sales out of the tip pool. It also says that the employees working at banquets received a flat rate of pay and did not directly receive a 23% service charge, depriving them of gratuities that they may have otherwise received.
If this sounds like old news, it's because in August, Batali faced similar charges in a suit by two employees at another one of his restaurants, Babbo. That suits has since grown to include 20 plaintiffs.
