Sharron Angle Rewrites Her Policy Positions In Nevada Senate Race

First Posted: 10/12/10 12:49 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:00 PM ET

CRISTINA SILVA, Associated Press

LAS VEGAS - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle is distancing herself from an unusual foe -- her own words.

Angle has repeatedly claimed in recent weeks that she never vowed to end Social Security or federal benefits for veterans.

But Democrats have circulated recordings of her making those very points in early campaign stops.

The shift in those positions and others shows Angle's ongoing evolution from a hard-right state legislator to a mellower national candidate.

It's also letting her rival, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, give Angle's positions center stage in TV spots that brand her as "too extreme."

IRONIC most Tea Baggers are retirees and blue collar workers and they are supporting Rand Paul who wants to eliminate Medicare and Medicaid for American seniors. Joe Miller who wants to lower the wages of American workers and eliminate unemployment benefits for all Americans despite the fact that his wife already collected unemployment from Taxpayers. Joe Miller and Christine O'Donnell are lecturing about expending but they are covering personal debts with their campaign founds. Sharron Angle who believes that government should not require insurance companies to cover autism or maternity care despite the fact she is using government health care for herself and her family and the list of anti-American proposals from Tea Baggers Candidates goes on and on. The biggest danger we are facing as Americans is the Tea Party, a movement that suppose to be about fiscal responsibility has emerged as an obstructionist force against Democrats and true Republicans; instead of resourcing on economists to move a fiscal responsibility agenda the Tea Party is based on racism, hooliganism and predatorily politics we need to stop them on November.

I hope that people aren't swayed by the influx of money her campaign has gotten. While I do think Harry Reid leaves a lot to be desired, someone like her is very dangerous. I seriously doubt she'd be doing the thinking behind the scenes. At least, I hope not.

The worst enemy of conservatives is their own words.

The more Americans know what conservatives REALLY believe, the less likely they are to vote for them.

Sharron Angle hasn't even been elected, but she has already flip flopped more than a caught CARP on dry land. Just Imagine what she would do as a Senator. OH, that's right, she would HAVE TO tow the Tea Party Republican line.

I don't know what she's smelling, but every time I see or hear her, I have the same reaction. She is a rotten fish that needs to be tossed into the trash.

As usual, the GOP tries to suppress the black vote (see video) and I suspect they will do the same with the Latino vote:

The tea party has one rule and that is the rules apply to others. Angle has two positions on everything. She may as well be running against herself. She was against social security before she was for it. How come Republicans are not waving signs that say "flip-flop?" Perhaps they hold others to a higher standard of consistency and rationality then they hold their own tea party candidates. Angle even opposed a measure in Nevada to raise more money to hire teachers and then denied it. Then when talking about using second amendment remedies she used the words "take out Harry Reid." Angle is too extreme for the former communist Russia much less Nevada.

This behavior of Angle's - running from reporters, denying she said things she actually said, etc. - is reminiscent of behavior of kindergarten children. Well....I've got news for Angle....

We in Nevada need an adult in office to deal with the many adult issues facing our fine state. We need our Senior Senator Reid...

not Angle who behaves like a kindergarten child lying to keep from getting in trouble.

Okay, I would like to ask you, a Nevadan: Why is this even a race? How is it possible that this THING is not losing by 40 points? What is wrong with you voters in Nevada? I can understand dissatisfaction with Senator Reid, but to replace him with a certifiable whackjob, who cries wolf about Sharia law being smuggled into the US, but herself wants to introduce Christian law. Tell me how this is possible. What is wrong with your voters??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
09:31 AM on 10/13/2010
As a Nevadan, I'm not particulary fond of Harry Reid but to replace him now would be disastrous. Angle's campaign raised $14 million last quarter. Just where did all that money come from? She advertised on Fox News to send in $25 each; that would make 64 million people who would do such a thing. That many people hardly even vote in a general election let alone an off-year electiion. Thanks to the "Supremes", this vote is being bought and paid for and these idiot Nevadans are falling for it. Heaven help us.;

The problem is that the whackjobs are the ones getting media attention - and Angle is definitely getting outside funding...don't think most Nevadans would give her that much! Nor do I believe the polls. I think a majority of us Nevadans are much too smart to vote for a fruit loop like Angle...at least, I hope so!

Please, let us not forget to observe STANDARD CONDUCT for these luna-tics!

As soon as they pass from the realm of Tundra-Tush (pre-primary) To Rove ("Ticket" candidate", their web sites come down, their most hillarious, ridiculous, absurd proposals disappear for now, or are actually RENOUNCED in public, and they are not even VERSED in what they stand for NOW. Its just all about attracting votes from unsuspecting moderates.

I'm not exaggerating, or fabricating this! One need look no further than Angle, Rand, and O'Donnell!

But Sharron Angle takes the cake on that one. She actually SUED "Friends of Harry Reid" for resurrecting her "primary platform", after uncle carl had banisjed it forever. the basis of her suit? "Copyright" infringment. More like "CopyWRONG" if you ask me.

In layman terms, Angle sued Reid because he violated the "How DARE YOU remind people about what I stood for in order to get NOMINATED!" rule.

And the sad, abu'used Baggernauts don't even feel USED!
