Anyone who does't put a case on their smartphone deserves what they get. These are not ruggedized, drop-proof devices like the military uses. It is absurd to think you can drop these things without damaging them. They are cutting-edge, state-of-the-art devices which try to pack as much functionality into the smallest possible package. They're not Fischer-Price toys.

You have been conditioned to think so. It is wrong to think that a device that touts itself as considerable stronger and more durable than plastic is actually less. If it cannot survive a 1 foot drop without shattering, then the material used should be reconsidered.

I wonder if this is why Apple bought exclusive right to Liquid Metal patents -- transparent aluminum anyone?

It is 82% more likely, so actually it should be 100% more likely. Since the iPhone 4 has glass on both sides rather than one, 82% isn't too shabby.

I've determined the upgrade from my 3GS is not worth it whatsoever.

Why don't they have a 64gb model?

And just a sight test - I definitely see more cracked 4G screens than 3GS or 3G screens

I don't see many people with protective bumpers on this model.

82% more huh? Well given that it has 100% more glass, 1 vs 2, I'd say that number isn't as bad as it looks.

P.S. when your phone has glass screens, try not to drop it, or get a protective case. I got an incase snap case for mine and a Zagg invisibleshield. It still looks great, and has at least some protection from getting banged and bumped.

A protective case limits the fun. is like a masturbating with a condom, no offence

What function does the glass on the back serve, especially since you are going to cover it with a protective case?

I should've read the comments before I made mine, I said basically the same thing.
