Princess Beatrice 'Traumatized' After Car Crash In London Roundabout

Princess Beatrice was left shaken after her BMW was crushed between a double-decker bus and a coach on one of London's busiest roundabouts.

Hello reports the accident took place near Hyde Park Corner -- mere yards from the Buckingham Palace grounds -- shortly after the 22-year-old royal left St. James' Palace, where she has an apartment, between 1:30 and 2 p.m. on Monday. Traveling with a bodyguard, Beatrice had been bound for Goldsmiths University, where she is studying history.

As the Daily Mail reports:

Beatrice burst into tears after becoming sandwiched between the two high-sided vehicles as she drove around the six-lane roundabout with her bodyguard in the passenger seat.

The fifth in line to the throne was forced to stand at the side of the busy road as she called her parents [Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York] on her mobile, while the Scotland Yard protection officer swapped insurance details with the other drivers in the accident.

Though both she and her bodyguard were unhurt, Beatrice is reported to have been "traumatized" by the incident. Her BMW, however, was not so fortunate and is said to be a total write-off.
