Glenn Beck Donates $10,000 To The Chamber Of Commerce (AUDIO)

Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck entered the controversy surrounding the alleged foreign donations to the powerful U.S. Chamber of Commerce by sending some domestic money to the group -- specifically, his own.

In the past two weeks, liberal blog Think Progress has written several articles documenting the money the Chamber receives from foreign donors. Based on one of the reports, the Democratic National Committee took out an ad targeting the business lobby and charging it with "stealing" American democracy by potentially using that money on domestic political campaigns. The Chamber hit back, saying that the DNC and the Obama administration had no proof for their charges.

On his radio show Thursday, Beck said that, while he didn't agree with everything the Chamber advocates, he considered the group to be an honorable one promoting businesses. He also mentioned that his father was a member.

But it was the Obama administration's criticisms of the Chamber that led Beck not only to tell his listeners to make Thursday "the biggest fundraising day in the Chamber's history" by donating to the group, but also to put a considerable amount of money where his mouth was.

While on the air, Beck went to the Chamber's website and announced to listeners, "I am donating $10,000 to the Chamber of Commerce now."

He also joked that the Obama administration hates the Chamber as much as he hates Woodrow Wilson.

I think you might like to see an exchange I had earlier with a rightie. He said:

Maybe in a country where the monied class is less inclined to actualize the perpetual spoiled childhood to which the feel entitled, but in America, Id have to disagree with that last sentence."

My response:

Do you realize that most of the unemployed in my state are people who agree  Read More...

Ummm...Glenn is "one of them". He makes $30 million a year, and is a willing mouthpiece for the Chamber and it's cronies. "They" are not "Us".

Becky tells Teabaggers to buy gold.

Teabaggers buy gold.

Gold company pays Becky a profit.

Becky donates back to Starchamber of Commerce who represents Gold Company.

Quite a GIG if you can get it.

Only ones left in the cold, the original Teabagger buyer who will more than likely never break even on their gold purchase, let alone make a profit.

How much more gullible can Beckerheads get? Of course, they'll do exactly what their multi-millionaire leader tells them. Like good little Beckford wives they ask no questions. They never consider why someone who made 32 million dollars last year, as a "small"business owner might have an ulterior motive behind his support for the Chamber of Commerce. The US Chamber is not your home town Chamber filled with mom and pop business owners. these are powerful corporations, who don't give a $$$ about anything but increasing their profits year after year. They must be high-fiven each other while they laugh at all the Beckerheads who don't have to be coaxed into the getting in to the bag. They not only get in willingly; they are now "paying" to get in! Unbelievable.

If giving money to the US Chamber, which does not support a tax incentive for those companies who keep jobs in America and does take money from those countries where former American jobs are outsourced, does not tell the Baggers they are voting against their best interests, they have entered the stratosphere of cluelessness. I would say they deserve what they're going to get, but unfortunately their lack of understanding will hurt our country.

So they gave him $10,000 extra in his check so he could make a statement donating on air. This is credible why? Didn't Koch Brothers pay for him and Queen of the Iquitarod to do there rally and bussed everyone in to boot. Please................................

The C of C lobbies against taking tax breaks away from companies that ship jobs overseas, lobbies against giving tax breaks to companies who don't, lobbies for shipping jobs overseas then complains and blames Dems because there are no jobs. Catch-22 in action. If the baggery really did stand for something they would be screaming about this, as it is they don't stand for anything different than what the republi-Cons stand for. Skruing America.

Agreed, AB52......I think the present state of American politics might be an enormous example of cognitive dissonance, where vast numbers of the electorate simply cannot make the connection between what the pugs and the Tea Partiers actually believe and what occurs to them in their daily lives.

It took George W. Bush screwing up two overseas wars, allowing financial institutions to practice laissez faire business on a grand scale, and offshoring our valuable jobs of all types for Obama to win in 2008. In other words, the American public, as a whole, is so uninformed and politically naive that it takes major fault lines to open up before they recognize there is even a problem.

I wish that I could say that it is a generational problem, where, at most, ten percent of my classes are aware of significant political, economic, historical, and social concepts, but, then, those folks of my own generation ( 55+ ), who allegedly are the sole survivors of the reading public, seem to embrace the Tea Party with a fanaticism we have not witnessed since the last gasps of the Weimar Republic in the 1930's. God help America....

If the organization was not donating exclusively to the GOP side, Beck would be wearing out chalkboards trying to link it back to Musolinni.
