Two Colorado politicians have made Time Magazine's list of 40 influential civic leaders under the age of 40.
State Senator Mike Johnston, who earlier this year earned the admiration--and antipathy--of many Coloradans when he shepherded Senate Bill 191 through the legislature, told the magazine he considered poor test scores and education inequality as nothing less than a civil rights issue.
Time also named Congressman Jared Polis, 35, one of its '40 under 40.' Polis is the first openly-gay man elected to Congress.
The '40 Under 40' list states its goal as identifying "a new generation of civic leaders is already at work trying to fix a broken system."
