Everyone loves a good comeback story, and in a city that calls The Cubs home, we're no exception. After getting its glam thunder stolen lately by Rush Street--the younger, hipper shopping corridor with Adidas Originals, Intermix, and Marc Jacobs boutiques sprinkled along the way--it looks like Oak Street is finally making a well-deserved, major return to retail.

Jil Sander, Jimmy Choo, Hermes, Barneys New York and the rest of the Oak mainstays will soon be rubbing elbows with five new luxurious merchants, all scheduled to open this season.

Yeah, now the rich will have five more stores to waste their money at while the poor and middle class continue to struggle for survival.
Thanks to the government, middle class, the banking fiasco, the housing fiasco and the financial markets fiasco the rich have been able to make more money than ever.
Most likely they are right wing conservative GOP'ers. Would they rather spend their money on a $2,000 pair of shoes or help a down & out family feed their kids?
I think you know......

Glad they're keeping Oak Street exclusively for small high-end shops and not letting the big developers in.

That's how Michigan Ave used to look, before developers like John Buck filled the street with tacky malls.

What? No Coupons for Discounts!

I refuse to shop WalMart but without coupons, I, also, "refuse" to shop Oak St.
