Refinery 29, L.A. Vintage Exchange and Rossmore joined forces at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood Thursday night to kick-off LA Fashion Week with a party and pop-up stores. The outdoor space was filled with over fifteen vendors selling clothes, jewelry and accessories. Very stylish attendees shopped, chatted with friends, noshed on food from I Heart Pies while enjoying DJ-spun tunes.

The hosts of the event, Refinery 29's West Coast Editor Kate Mulling, L.A. Vintage Exchange owner Courtney Lowe, and Rossmore LA's owner/designer Suzanne Lequeux, are all good friends with one common goal: to showcase under-the-radar designers (such as Laeken, Maxine Dillon, Found By, and more) while bringing the community together.

"I think it's really important to celebrate the independent designers and independent shoppers. Our readers want to know that there is something else out there--something that is new, beautiful, cool and unexpected," said Mulling.

Lowe and Lequeux both showcased their brands at the event and understand the relevance of gathering the community together in order gain recognition for their hard work.

"Both Courtney and I started from the ground, but you have to put yourself out there. Don't try to go straight for the top by hiring people to do things for you. Customers want to know that you're involved and connected to your own business, and also to them. You just have to be patient," stated Lequeux, whose jewelry line is frequently worn by Kate Bosworth.

As fashion tastemakers, Mulling, Lowe and Lequeux all agree that LA style is "effortless, easy, fun and different," which was precisely the vibe of the evening. The low-key atmosphere was the perfect place for one-of-a-kind LA designers to shine.
