On the last day of the school year, Oakland's Hillcrest Elementary School students were summoned to an all-school meeting. Surprised students heard wedding bells instead of school bells as first-grade teacher, Miss Chang, waltzed down schoolyard stairs to greet fiancé and P.E. teacher, Mr. Inclan.
Chang told the San Francisco Chronicle:
"the moment of the wedding kiss was most amusing. With students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade, there were both 'oooooooohs' and 'eeewwwwws.' "
