What Will Apple Announce At Its "Back To Mac" Event?

UPDATE: Apple has just announced that it will be offering live video streaming of its press conference.

According to Fortune, Apple PR issued the following release:

Apple® will broadcast its October 20 event online using Apple's industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS® X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on October 20, 2010 at www.apple.com.

An Apple event is scheduled for October 20 and the company is widely expected to unveil a new version of its MacBook Air PC, as well as a new operating system.

In its invitation to the "Back to the Mac" press conference (see below), Apple reportedly promised people they would "see what's new for the Mac on October 20, including a sneak peek of the next major version of Mac OS X," according to CrunchGear. Apple's announcement is set to begin at 10AM PT at the company's Cupertino headquarters.
