Barbara Bush & Jenna Bush Hager Hit Masquerade Ball (PHOTOS)

Former First Daughters Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush stepped out to the First Annual UNICEF Masquerade Ball in N.Y.C. on Thursday night. Both ladies were dressed to the nines -- Jenna in an embellished blouse and long skirt, Barbara in a black gown with a plunging neckline -- and accessorized with headpieces and makeup.

Also at the bash was their cousin, designer Lauren Bush, who created her signature FEED bag in a trick-or-treat version.

She didn't have to do it. A lot of people criticize but don't actually go do the work. Barbara has done work with Covenant House. I used to come down hard on them but most people don't do anything. I'm all for people who actually walk the walk..regardless of political persuasion.

They're wearing costumes. People need to lighten up. There's no good reason to stress these girls. Political animosity against their father is not a reason to dislike these two. They didn't do anything wrong.

Because, like it or not, they're members of society from a known family. They're a former president's daughters. They're not going to be completely obscure.

They're nice girls anyway and I wish them happiness and success in their lives. Remember, the Reagans kids turned out pretty cool. You shouldn't have even a semblance of a grudge which spans from a parent to their child.

What's sad is that their father has caused so much misery in this world and many young men and women have lost their lives for his fictitious war. These two girls will never know suffering, poverty, or hunger despite that many people here and abroad will be dealing with it for many years to come due to their father's actions.

First of all, I doubt you know them personally so it is impossible for you to back up your points about their character. What I know of Jenna is that she was a charter school teacher and humanitarian (who partied in college like most other kids her age). Yes, she will never know poverty but neither will Chelsea Clinton. I can't stand these girls' father, but it makes no sense to judge a child by his or her parents.

Agreed. Off limits, absolutely. Unless... when said CoP's inject themselves right into the public fishbowl, then all bets are off. Taking potshots at Chelsea Clinton, her braces, her teenage gawkiness, her ankles was utterly cruel ... without respect for the political affiliation of her parents. When the Bush girls drank it up, got PI's, and passed a fake ID giving them the legal age to drink in Texas, at Chuy's on Barton Springs Road (and the waitress who called them on it was fired by her manager), then no, they are no longer off limits. They have served themselves up to the public in flagrante delicto, medium rare, and therefore cannot complain about what the media serves up to them.

I have to disagree with you on that. I don't know a single person in college who did not drink. Were they stupid to think that they could get away with a fake ID given that their father was the president...yes. I am going to begrudge and 18 or 19 year-old for drinking (when they are not driving)...no.

The Obama girls are young, underage girls. The Bush girls are older. They're mature adults. They're about the same age as Chelsea Clinton. This is about a costume party. If people said that about them if they were not dressed or a costume party, it would be ignorant, just as much if someone said that about Chelsea Clinton. For anyone to say that about the Obama girls, tho, would be beyond the Pale, imo, because they're so young. I think your analogy is wrong, for that reason.

I couldn't say enough times how scary those offspring look. I'm looking straight into the eyes of death burst through the picture frame. The spookier thing is that I think those offspring know that's how they come off and get some sick sado-masochistic rush from it.
