Kara DioGuardi Headed To New Bravo Show 'Going Platinum'

NEW YORK — The Bravo network says it's bringing former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (KEHR'-uh dee-oh-GWAHR'-dee) back to TV in a series of her own.

"Going Platinum" will be a song-writing competition that pits contestants against one another as they live together, all vying for a $100,000 grand prize.

DioGuardi will be head judge of the 10-episode series. Singer-songwriter Jewel will serve as host.

"Going Platinum" is scheduled to premiere next year, Bravo announced Tuesday.

DioGuardi, who has written hit songs for such artists as Carrie Underwood and Pink, was a judge on "American Idol" the past two seasons.

#1 - Kara looks great and I am happy that she has a show..I never really cared either way for her but I think that she deserves a show a lot more then most people who have them now.

#2 - I hopeeeeeee that the song that comes out of this show is WAY better than the song that she gave to Adam Lambert when he won...thankfully she is not writing the songs and only judging.

Hopefully it lasts longer than Paulas show!

Oh goody. More blandness for the masses. First prize will go to a song that's simultanously a whiney 7th grader's diary entry and an overwrought pretentious power ballad.

Does anyone, anywhere remember: when Bravo was that boring channel with culture?
That A&E actually stands for Arts & Entertainment; something once upon a time that used to include ballet, live theatre, documentaries & schlocky biographies of famous people.
The Learning Channel had educational programming as well as health news that didn't have anything to do with multiple births.
The History Channel had factual, documentary programming from the past with only the occasional foray into "coulda, almost been" history territory.

What the hell happened to the original mission of these channels? I know what happened to this used to be viewer - I read lots more books.
