Techland:

It may sound unbelievable that a Facebook group for young mothers would have a near constant volley of messages careening through the popular social network's series of interconnected tubes, but it's true! Apparently they like to chat with one another on the order of "35 to 40 messages within a 1.5- to 2-hour period," according to PC World.

Wish I knew who she is - that mugging sour-face of hers is terrific! I've seen that photo a number of times, but I just can't dial it in. ??

The women need to use an IM service not Facebook... there is a difference.

Some kids setup separate Facebooks because they don't want any grief in the family. They want their parents to remain their parents & their friends, their friends. In some families, it's too late to "befriend" your children. People want their space even on the internet.

Parents, befriend your children at your own risk . . .

Misleading headline ... and missing information in this story. Reading the linked story I see that Facebook is not deciding that fast-posting moms are a problem, merely that their high rate of posting looks like spamming to automated filtering systems, and that said systems are being re-tuned.

Trust me, old mothers who are retired and have nothing else to do all day but post on FaceBook should also be blocked from excessive posting....and excessive nagging of her son why he doesn't post on FaceBook at all!

This is why some people have not introduced their respective mothers to Facebook.

My mother is perfectly busy with her life and friends/family yet she would definitely not mind posting updates if it would help keep her in contact with me at all times.

I don't mind my mother commenting on my facebook, I just wish I could approve the comments before she posts them. Some of them are just outright weird or unrelated to what I posted or make no sense. But I haven't the heart to delete or tell her that.

LOL, for real! My mother in law joined and then promptly friended my entire side of the family, even people she'd never met, and posted weird comments on their pages as well. And what are you to do? Just keep sending messages to your friends apologizing for the mom-intrusion and hoping she learns the difference between clicking "comment" on a post and replying to posts in her status update.
