Glenn Beck Auctions Visit Off For Charity

Original Post: The last time Glenn Beck held an auction, the winning bidder paid a reported $85,000 to have dinner with the Fox News host at his home. So it is surprising that a new auction to meet Beck in his New York studio is yet to garner a single bid, even three days after it was announced.

The auction, which is being held on charity site CharityBuzz, invites the winner to "join Glenn Beck in New York City and spend an hour watching his live radio program from the studio. You and your guest will have the opportunity to meet Glenn, take photos, get autographs, and take home a signed copy of his latest book." The item's value is estimated at $2,500.

The auction opened on Monday. As of Thursday morning, however, there have been no recorded bids:

Whereas Beck's dinner auction in July also promised a helicopter ride, the current auction -- the proceeds of which will be donated to Musicians On Call, a charity that sends musicians to the bedsides of patients in hospitals and other healthcare facilities -- stresses that the winning bidders will have to pay for their airfare and accommodations.

As of Wednesday morning, the same Musicians on Call auction had drawn 8 bids for a chance to meet Katy Perry, 2 bids for a cruise with Taylor Swift, 14 bids for a Swift-autographed guitar, 9 bids for a trip to LA and a walk-on role on CBS show "The Rules of Engagement," and 11 bids to watch Boston Red Sox batting practice.

However, all is not lost for Beck: the auction runs through Nov. 10, giving him plenty of time to attract bidders.
