You might have heard by now that the Huffington Post did this thing called Game Changers, and maybe you've seen pictures from Thursday night's party. The guest list boasted Sean Penn, Mayor Bloomberg, Eliot Spitzer, Bethenny Frankel, Anderson Cooper, Paulina Porizkova, and Tom Colicchio, but equally impressive was the event's decor.
Designer David Stark brought his vivid imagination to the Skylight Studios in SoHo. He created a three-dimensional displays for each category honored: Green (recycling arrows), Politics (the Capitol building), Business (stock index chart), Entertainment (a movie camera), Food (a shopping cart), Technology (a laptop) and more, along with accompanying video projections listing all the Game Changers in each category.
The neon outlines were inspired by Dan Flavin sculptures, and Stark brought the huge space "down to size" by using a generous amount of dramatic black curtaining. A Mercedes was also featured, as Mercedes was one of the sponsors.
