The glossies seem to be having a Balmain moment, with one of the label's gold, sequined gowns featured on six covers, Fashionologie points out. At the bargain price of $30,000, you probably won't be the seventh one to wear it.
Over the summer, Miu Miu pulled its own hattrick, with one dress worn by Lily Allen on UK Elle, Eva Mendes on W magazine and Freja Beha Erichsen on British Vogue. At the time, Elle editor Lorraine Candy told the Guardian, "Usually press offices are pretty good at making sure we don't get the same dress as our rivals." She played off the matchy-matchy-matchy mistake like it was no big deal. She remarked, "You have to take these things in your stride," but, "obviously I'd rather it wasn't on a major rival."
Wonder who will take the flack for Balmain's oopsies-times-six. But in the meantime, take a look at the covers and tell us who wore it best.
