Governor Midterm Elections 2010: Races To Watch

Many of the gubernatorial showdowns set to be decided on Tuesday remain too close to call even as voters in states across the country hit the ballot box to voice support for their preferred candidates.

Republicans are expected to recapture at least several, if not more, state governorships once votes are tallied at the end of the midterm races. While the results of the match-ups may have a more visibile immediate impact on the local level, any shift in power that transpires in one of many battleground states could have political implications for the 2012 election cycle.
