Ben Quayle, Dan Quayle's Son, Elected To Congress In Arizona

Ben Quayle

PHOENIX — The son of former Vice President Dan Quayle has won his race against a tough Democratic challenger to represent Arizona's 3rd Congressional District.

Ben Quayle overcame a series of questions during the campaign about his links to a racy website to claim the Phoenix-area seat of retiring GOP Rep. John Shadegg on Tuesday.

Democrat Jon Hulburd, a Phoenix lawyer, made a strong push at upsetting Quayle's candidacy with a mix of attack ads that questioned the 33-year-old Republican's experience and maturity.

Quayle stood out during a 10-person primary for a hard-hitting ad where he intoned "Barack Obama is the worst president in history." He also played up his links to Arizona.

Quayle grew up in Indiana and Washington, D.C.

I live one district over and work in this district. I am utterly shocked at this outcome. AZ republicans swept all of the statewide races as well. Medical MJ went down. This is truely a very red place to live.

Polls yesterday were signalling that Hulburd might pull this off. He got killed.

Thanks to all the young folks who sat this one out. Polling data suggests that the young  Read More...

Dan Quayle was the worst Senator in Indiana history, and now his boy Benny can try for the distinction of being the worst Representative in Arizona history. Maybe he'll give old JD Hayworth a run for his money.

So many comments about Mr. Quayle and how he must not be qualified for the job because he is his father's son. Ben Quayle graduated from Duke then Vanderbilt Law School. Neither are dummy-catching schools.
In comparison, Patrick Kennedy, son of Ted Kennedy, and soon-to-be-retired member of Congress graduated from Providence College, a mid-sized Catholic college in Rhode Island. No post-graduate degrees.
Would he have been elected to Congress with a different last name? I doubt it. Also would the press and his constituents have been so lenient toward him after crashing his car in Washington DC 'under the influence' if his name was not Kennedy? I doubt that also.
Do not be so quick to tar with one hand, and white-wash with the other.

Well the corporations win either way. If they do manage to squeeze in one of their mutant army, the rest of us are so mad at the ignorant, amnesic people who voted for them, they we don't work together to topple corporate power.

Newly-elected Tea Party candidates are like the latest winner of American Idol who has just gotten a recording contract and think they are going to set the world on fire. They show up at the studio brimming with a big ego, a list of songs, and the obligatory entourage. Within 15 minutes of arriving, they are told by the record-company producer what songs they will sing, how they will sing them, and OBTW, lose the nose ring

What's with the repubs electing all the reprobates?

If you're a crook, liar, cheat, se.x addict, fear and hatemonger, you can easily get elected.

The United States of America
As the government has been co-opted by RWNJ's, expect more and higher taxes, wars, government, intrusion into personal lives... you get the picture.

Consider escaping to Canada, where you will be welcomed.
Conbagger’s and RWNJ's will not be allowed.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

Consider this. There is a 2 year process/wait list. You can apply now and then see what happens in the 2012 election. You can always turn down the offer if the Dems win. If the baggers win, your country will really be in a world of hurt.
Just think about it.

US citizens have a higher "Q" rating then all other applicants. That is without any of the following factors.
# 1 US citizen
# 1(a) US citizen with proposed business plan
# 2 skilled labour of any field, Canada is experiencing a skilled labour shortage.
# 3 qualified professional in any field, starting with the lowest qualification (BA)
#4 qualified professional in any field, starting with the highest qualification (masters degree)”

OTTAWA (The Borowitz Report) -- Canadian immigration officials have reported a huge increase in the number of requests for Canadian citizenship in the past twenty-four hours, with over fifty-five million such inquiries pouring in since late Tuesday night.

Of those fifty-five million requests, well over 99.99% of them came from U.S. citizens, with a particularly large number coming from residents of Florida and Kentucky.

Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said that he was "flabbergasted" by the fifty-five-million-plus requests for Canadian citizenship, adding that it was difficult to pinpoint the precise reasons for the staggering increase.
