White House Calls Brian Williams To Complain: NYP

First Posted: 11/04/10 12:47 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:10 PM ET

The New York Post's Page Six reported Thursday that the White House called NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams last week to complain about his coverage of what the President described as a "credible threat."

In a discussion with NBC Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Richard Engel and security expert Michael Sheehan, Williams described the Yemeni terrorist plot as "almost inept."

"We're told the White House called Williams immediately after and told him, 'We would never put the president out there saying it was serious unless that was the case,'" Page Six reported.

NBC News had no comment for Page Six.

I doubt anything that Page Six says. It is the New York Post, which is owned by Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch's people do everything they can to discredit their competition.

Another HP poster made a very relevant post about this type of thing.
Once the news starts giving "opinions" it's not news anymore.
I'm surprised Mr. Williams seems to think "he" knows more about the security factor than
the WH and the president.

Williams has been working my last nerve also....he's fancying himself a media darling....he's become a celebrity more then a news anchor.
He used to be the one I watched...lately he's just ....a flippant joke....wanting everyone to notice how da m n cute he is....ugh

http://windowintopalestine.blogspot.com/2010/11/israeli-terrorists-detained-at-national.html where was NBC, Fox , CNN & other mainstream Media on this. If this was men from middle eastern backgrounds they would have been shot dead and we would be hearing about this non-stop about threats and safety threats to America.

Wasn't Keith Olberman partly responsible for Rick Sanchez firing? Maybe now they can stand in the unemployment line together.

Well, first of all, Olberman had absolutely nothing to do with Sanchez's firing.
Olberman will be back on Tuesday.

There is a difference between racial slurs and donating money to a campaign. Even corporations have the freedom of speech to donate to a campaign!

After today, with their "suspension" of Keith Olbermann, no one should harbor any doubt regarding NBC's republican agenda. And not just the main network, MSNBC is being purged of all progressives. This trend has been visible for months. And with Comcast purchasing them, they will only move farther right. Though not nearly as publicized, Comcast's owner also gave millions to republican groups aimed at "thrashing" democrats. What really pisses me off is that those greedy bastards think they are fooling us.

This is the most rediculous thing. the President is the Pesident for all the people. I don't see any reason why he cannot go on Ryan Seacrest's program. Whenever I hear the President speak on the loan radio showsI am very pleased. He is relating to the ordinary and regular folks. I am over Ms. McCain. If it weren't for DADDY who would give a hoot about what she thought.

Is that why he said half the country are his enemies and had to ride in the back of the bus?
05:55 PM on 11/05/2010
You really should occasionally get your news from a source besides Fox. Obama said "back seat," referring to the car they "drove into the ditch." Not bus. Car. It's an important distinction which was not lost on Fox's propagandists when they decided to begin misquoting the president so that folks like you would pass along the misquote.

Brian Williams OBVIOUSLY tries to be such a good boy. What do I think of him? Too bad Peter Jennings died. I liked him better. Williams is TOO squeaky clean for my taste!

I agree with you, though he's good when he loosens up a little. And his call out to Bush during Katrina was formidable - he was the only one of the main media anchors to do so.

Readin the posts here it strikes me that instead of discussing the matter at hand many people want to turn this into yet another Fox vs. Whoever..... Talk about obsessed!
