Big Star Celebrates Anniversary With Music, Special Menu

Wicker Park's beloved Big Star celebrates its one-year anniversary Monday with a special menu and a customized Goose Island bew.

The anniversary party includes a $30 prix-fixe menu and live music by John Langford, Eater Chicago reports.

Aside from their usually delicious taco lineup, Monday's menu includes barbo en hoja de banana (marinated catfish in a banana leaf with kuri squash escabeche), pollo frito en mole colorado (fried chicken with red mole, scallions, queso fresco and toasted pumpkin seeds) and pibichivo (braised goat baked in masa with slow-cooked garbanzos and marinated chiles de agua.)

If you've been to Big Star, then you already know they do not take reservations--so plan on sipping a few cocktails at the bar before you order.
