Latino Fashion Week Returns To Chicago: Shows, Parties And More

Bringing more than a dozen designers from across the country and beyond to Chicago, the fourth annual Latino Fashion Week kicked off Monday.

This year's event includes runway shows, a movie premiere, a teen day and student competitions. Some of the fashionistas showcasing their designs are Carlos Campos, James De Colon, Angelica Santoyo and Benito Fernandez.

Also on hand will be some celebrities, including actress Patricia de Leon, Grammy award winner Colby O'Donis and America's Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez.

Fashion! Music! Cinema!
View the Chicago premiere of "Celia: The Queen," a documentary that pays tribute to legendary salsa singer Celia Cruz.
Where: Piper's Alley Theater, 1608 N. Wells St. followed by a reception at Suite Lounge, 1446 N. Wells St.
When: Tuesday, November 9, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Fashion Forward to 2060- The Student Designers Competition
The Student Designers Competition will feature pieces by some of Chicago's best fashion students.
Where: Chicago Center for the Performing Arts, 777 N. Green St.
When: Wednesday, November 10, 6 p.m.
Cost: $10

Latino's Teen Day
This special teen event promotes a healthy lifestyle and improved self-esteem featuring an AWSUM (Amazing-Wonderful-Super-Unique-Me) Workshop. There will be special appearances by America's Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez and singer Colby O'Donis.

STRUCTURE
Come see a series of Spring lines by both local and international designers.
Where: Circuit Night Club, 3641 N. Halsted St.
When: Friday, November 12, 8 p.m.

A Passport to Design, Fashion Ball
The final fashion week event will include food, wine, cocktails, nationally acclaimed Cuban-born designer Lazaro Perez, items from the Celia Cruz estate, a performance by Brian Michaels and more.
