Colbert Has Cee-Lo Green Change 'F**k You' To 'Fox News' (VIDEO)

Cee-Lo Green appeared on "The Colbert Report" last night, and Stephen Colbert found an interesting way to allow Green to sing his new hit "F**k You" without offending the network.

"As this is a family show, we can't be dropping the F-bomb," Colbert said, and suggested Cee-Lo replace the lyric with "something positive."

After rejecting "beef stew" and other substitutions for the song's expletive-laden chorus, Cee-Lo agreed to use Colbert's suggestion of Fox News. Colbert even provided Cee-Lo with a special verse to make the song make more sense:

"I saw you drivin' 'round town with the girl I love on Fox News/ Didn't see one politician that wasn't corrupt on Fox News And I got the blues/ The poor get poorer, the rich get richer. Ain't that some sh**? (Ain't that some sh**?) / I'm havin' pains in my chest because I'm so stressed from Fox News."

You can watch the uncensored version of "F**k You" on Colbert's website, but we're pretty fond of this new version. (Via TV Squad)

I think "Fox News" and that other phrase are pretty interchangeable.

Maybe Fox can use it as their lead in music.

I thought this was hilarious but I couldn't understand most of the lyrics when he was singing them. But, I do love the original, and this was definitely a bonus.

Besides loving cee-lo's voice, I think this coulod catch on as a universal swear-word replacement.

Guy cuts you off in traffic - roll down the window and yell "Fox News" at him.
Guy spills his beer on you at the ball game...."Fox News" dude!

And it could go bigger.

Just look at that steaming pile of Fox News your dog dumped on the carpet.
and
That guy is so full of Fox News, he should run for office.
or
Officer, it should be only my business if I want to Fox News my pet goat.

lesterbud,
I think it just went a whole lot bigger!
Universal indeed. The whole world is laughing at the gullibility of the American electorate that follows this cult.
From the movie Network
"Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."
Well, I'm not going to leave you alone.
"We're as mad as hell, and we're not going to take this anymore!!"
So, "Fox News"!!!

Right On!

I say "Fox News" to Fox News, and all the little-brained "Fox Newsers" that follow the Fox News Dogma.

Favorited. I'd say "F & F", but who knows what that would mean in this thread?

Oh yeah, Fox & Friends.

But that would be rude to lesterbud, so no.

I approve this performance. Very pleased with the backup performers as well.

**Note: I couldnt help but notice that Colbert has a picture of Hugh Laurie in the background on the one of the shelves that is unmissable. Not sure what is up with that.

Yes. Its an inside joke. They know each other from doing a movie together several years ago. Colbert noticed a picture of himself in House's office,so he added a picture of Hugh to his set as well.

For anyone else who recognized the voice and/or face, but couldn't put it together with the song "Crazy": Cee Lo sang the song with a band called "Gnarls Barkley". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ44psLHvIc

Maybe he could redo it with "You watch Fox News. Does that make you crazy? Probably."

I love it, love Cee Lo anyway I put the real version on my FB page long ago. I just feel like this is probably the most authentic break up song along with I Hate You So Much Right Now, and Bust Your Windows. They express the pain of a breakup with a tinge of humor.

Great song, great guy, great band: truly deserving of the Colbert Bump!

And anyone who doesn't agree can go Fox themselves!

Colbert and Colbert writers: GENIUS! We the nation, owe you a debt of gratitude for this one!

Thanks, Granite: enjoy!

I got the idea from the poster, lightlist, and I had a great deal of fun typing up a whole list of them, but sadly, the system, or the automatic censor, or a human deleted it.
Probably had something to do with "Who the Fox didn't f ... llll.....u....s...h....! :P
